Our mission is to make you feel comfortable and give you a smile to be happy about
Some patients tend to feel anxious about visiting the orthodontist. But luckily our friendly team can take all these feelings away and have you feeling comfortable!
We’re only here to help you achieve great things!
What happens on your first orthodontic consultation?
Your first consultation at Straight Orthodontics will involve a consultation, so that we can get to know one another.
When you arrive, you will be greeted by our friendly reception team, followed by our experienced orthodontist, Dr Lo. We will make sure you feel relaxed and ensure you have nothing to worry about. You’ll leave feeling excited about the amazing results you can achieve and be proud of.
The consultation will last approximately 30 minutes, where we will be able to decide whether you require some form of treatment or not.
You first consultation can easily be broken down into the following three stages.
Discussion
Dr Lo will begin by getting to know you. He will ask questions regarding your medical history and what you would like to achieve from orthodontic treatment.
Examination
Dr Lo will assess your mouth and may take x-rays if required, to discover any issues that need attention. This examination will determine if you require treatment.
Conclusion
If Dr Lo decides treatment is necessary, he will discuss the suitable options offered by Straight Orthodontics for you. You will receive information regarding costs, benefits and treatments.
If your child requires treatment, but still needs time to develop, treatment may be held. If this is the case, you will be given a return date to begin treatment at a later stage.
After this initial consultation, it is entirely up to you, whether you would like to proceed with treatment or not.
How your orthodontic treatment begins!
If you decided that the orthodontic treatment is right for you, this is where your journey begins!
The treatment plan will commence with digital records of your teeth being taken (can be in the form of 3D models, x-rays or digital photographs) as they will be required for a personalised treatment plan.
It’s very important for treatment plans to be customised to you, as every patient has a different set of teeth, gums, jawbones and face!
These digital records can be taken during initial consultation; however, there is a fee.
Once Dr Lo has analysed your records, he can meet with you to discuss the best treatment plan for you or your child. Short animations or photographs may be available to showcase the treatment plan and expected final results to you. You will also become aware of exact treatment costs and expected treatment time.
Be aware that we offer a range of extended payment plans, please visit the Payment Plans page to find out more information.
During this appointment, it is crucial for you to ask all questions and have all your concerns taken care of, don’t hesitate to ask questions. Making sure you are comfortable and happy is very important to us!
